Deadline for Entries

Entries for the 14th festival edition will open by mid-January 2019. The deadline for entries is May 8th, 2019.

Entry Form

Every entry or series of entries must be submitted online. The same entry can be submitted in distinct categories.

Entries Format

Submitted films can be sent on DVD or can be uploaded via the online registration tool. Web/Online entries can be submitted by web link (URL). All uploaded videos must have the following specifications: Format .mp4, resolution 1280×720 or 1920×1080. Format for 3D films should be Side by Side.

Please note that all shipping costs, insurance, customs duties and handling fees for all entries must be prepaid by the sender. We cannot assume responsibility for customs clearance.

Eligibility

All materials are eligible for the 2019 AutoVision Festival edition, if they have been aired/produced/posted online after January 1st, 2017. The entrant must own the copyright of the participating film/online media or have the permission to use it.

Entry Fees

Single entry:

The fee for the first entry respectively category is € 290,–. Already starting with the second entry respectively category you benefit from a quantity discount of € 30,– each.

Students only pay € 100,– per entry in the category Students (confirmation of enrolment required!).

Series entry:

The fee for a series entry is € 790,– per category.

20% VAT will be charged for Austria and entrants without VAT number from EU countries.

Payment

Payments can be made either by bank transfer or by credit card. As method of payment we prefer bank transfer for countries within the EU and credit card for countries outside the EU.

Please make sure that the given information about the invoice and categories is correct. An additional € 25,– fee will be applied for any change after issuing the invoice.

Language

Entries should be in English or German. You may submit your works in other languages as well. In this case please send us English subtitles or a synopsis in order to allow the judging. Entries in the category Commercials are only accepted in English or with English subtitles. The entry form must be completed in English or German.

Jury

The international jury is independent. It consists of professionals from the automotive industry, film and multimedia professionals, advertising experts, as well as media representatives. The decisions of the jury are final.

Awards

Gold and Silver OttoCars may be awarded in each category. The winners of the Production Arts & Crafts categories receive Black OttoCar Trophies.
The Grand Prix is selected among the Gold and Black OttoCar winners. Additionally, since 2011, a OttoCar Grand Prix for Interactive & Multimedia is selected.

After the jury’s deliberation, the finalists will be announced in July. The Awards Ceremony will take place on September 12th, 2019 at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. If you are not able to attend the Awards Ceremony we will send you the trophy and diploma via parcel service, in which case delivery and packaging must be paid by the receiver.
Duplicate trophies and diplomas can be ordered and purchased any time.

The jury may select entries for special recognition.

Promotion & Usage Rights

In case of winning, a specific streaming rights agreement will be provided from Filmservice International. After signing the streaming rights agreement, the winning production will be shown in course of the Awards Ceremony, on the festival’s website and can be used for other promotional activities. The festival organization is entitled to use winners’ information for promotional purposes. In the online/interactive/multimedia categories, entering companies should provide a link/URL that can be accessed during the period of judging, and that is available for streaming on the AutoVision website for a certain period after the awards have been presented.

The entrant bears all costs of copyright infringement that may occur through the publication of the film.
